Shawndre Leydon, LMHC
As a community counselor, I specialized in clients with diagnoses including trauma, PTSD, stress, anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, etc. I provide services to adult clients, adolescent clients, couples and families. I also attend IEP sessions to assist families in the school setting.
Furthermore as a forensic counselor, I have a variety of experience working with patients who are sexually deviant to patients with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and schizoaffective disorder who are impulsively sexually preoccupied. In 2018, I became a member of the Florida Association for the Treatment and Prevention of Sexual Abuse (FATSA).
Clients can expect to experience a nurturing, non-judgmental environment to address their therapeutic concerns in a timeframe that is comfortable for them. As a counselor, I believe that we should work as a team in order to ensure the best potential outcome for the client. Finally, I utilize eclectic methods personalized to each client’s needs. Most frequently, I utilize CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing as well as a humanistic approach as appropriate.
