Childhood Cancer Awareness

The Million Mile 2019 for Childhood Cancer Awareness

In honor of Alex, Luke Zawadzki hosted a Lemonade Stand to raise awareness of childhood cancer. While most kids on their spring break vacation are playing video games, swimming or hanging with friends Luke took on educating people on the need of research to find better treatments and cures for childhood cancer. With the joint effects of the staff of Lighthouse Health Group and Luke was able to collect $1020.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation was born from the determination of a brave four-year-old. Diagnosed as a toddler, when Alex was four, she decided to set up a lemonade stand and give her earnings to doctors to help them find a cure for childhood cancer. With her own successful yearly lemonade stand and inspiring others around the world to set up their own stands and donate the proceedings to childhood cancer research. By the time Alex passed away in 2004, four years after setting up her project, she had raised $1 million to the cause.
