The lifetime prevalence of mood disorders in women is approximately twice that of men. The fluctuation of female sex hormones throughout a women’s lifetime can alter the sensitivity of neurotransmitters such as serotonin. This fluctuation of female hormones are linked to many psychiatric disorders starting from puberty to menopause. By understanding how women’s bodies function we can better treat psychiatric disorders and help our patients achieve mental wellness.

We will tailor your mental health needs based on an initial 1-hour psychiatric evaluation. This evaluation includes mental health rating scales and relevant past medical and psychiatric history. After the evaluation, our provider along with your consent will develop a mental health plan. This plan will include psychotropic medication, psychotherapy, and other supportive treatments.
